Sanctuary Hotel New York

The stay at Sanctuary Hotel was better than I expected! The staff was more than lovely, and Eddie and Spencer's team took great care of us. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed, and even at departure, they kindly booked us a taxi and helped load our suitcases into the trunk. The rooms are pleasant and clean, with housekeeping done almost every day. Towels are changed constantly, and even our pajamas were carefully folded on the bed.

The room was small but cozy, just enough room for my husband and me. Seemed typical for NYC. I liked the glass shower and the appearance of the lobby, room and bar area. We loved the proximity to the theater district and other attractions. We also enjoyed the roof top restaurant.

The team is always amazing. Have stayed there about a dozen times and they are incredibly helpful and attentive, and more importantly, it's genuine and not for show, which I like. Room was comfortable and well set out. Bed was very comfortable and excellent shower. The breakfast does me well as I just want coffee and a bagel. If you need more then you need to go to a diner or somewhere else which doesn't bother me. To be fair I was upgraded and it did make difference in room size but I've also got along with the smaller room noting that we are in central manhattan and most hotel rooms are fairly small. I liked also that the room has a decent light. I get fed up with dark rooms.

Room was sizeable (even have space to do yoga). Deluxe queen is at the back of the hotel and away from elevator, i.e quiet, which is how we like it. Housekeeping did a really good job. Our room had a fridge, which was one of the things we were looking for. Safe in the room worked great.

I was so impressed with Sanctuary! Excellent customer service from everyone, including the doormen who greeted us everyday. We had jet lag and the staff were really accommodating when we asked if we could order McDonald's on Uber Eats at 3.30am. It's an ideal location around the corner from time square and it was surprisingly quiet. Our room was serviced daily, quite dark (helpful for jetlag) and included a great continental breakfast plus tea, coffee and water available in the lobby all the time (again helpful for jetlag). It definitely surpassed my expectations for New York accommodation and I will definitely recommend it to anyone travelling to NYC.
